Cascadilla Gorge
Ithaca, New York

Location: Central Tompkins County, Linn Street, City of Ithaca. The gorge can be reached from Routes 13 and 34 by turning east onto West Court Street which will change to East Court Street after you cross North Cayuga Street. Continue on East Court Street for 0.25 of a mile to an intersection with Linn Street and turn left (north), crossing Cascadilla Creek. Immediately find a spot to park along Linn Street.

From your parking spot, walk back to the corner of East Court and Linn Streets. The trail head begins in the grassy area to your left (east), at an informative sign about the trail. From here you can follow the trail to the intersection of College and Oak Avenues, ascending roughly 350 feet in a distance of about 0.5 of a mile. Along the way you will encounter 8 waterfalls, ranging in height from 6 to 54 feet, and numerous small, but interesting sets of rapids.

Formed by the rushing waters of Cascadilla Creek, this gorge features several charming waterfalls. It is located on the southern side of the Cornell University Campus. As you walk along this pleasant trail, which has a large variety of abundant plant life, you may find it hard to believe that you are in the center of a large city.
